RLANDO, Fla., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Vein Associates Of America, Inc. (OTC: VNAA), a national chain of medical facilities dedicated solely to the treatment of diseased veins, recently opened their Orlando and Lake Mary Clinic to offer residents of Central Florida their minimally invasive solutions to troublesome varicose veins, spider veins and hemorrhoids.
Located in Orlando at 6001 Vineland Avenue in Suite 104 across from Universal Studios and in Lake Mary at 4106 West Lake Mary Blvd. in Suite 325 near I-4, the new medical centers provide patients with alternatives to traditional hospital surgery.
"As many as 60% of all Americans suffer from some form of venous disorder, however women are more commonly affected with varicose veins and spider veins," says Jenny Yoshida, MD of Vein Associates. "Because varicose veins, spider veins and hemorrhoids are such prevalent problems, it's important for consumers to know about the latest, safest, and most effective treatments available."
Using the latest in computer-based ultrasound, fiber-optic lasers and
infrared technology, Vein Associates physicians are able to safely treat patients using techniques that are very effective, done in the office, virtually painlessly, leave little or no scars and with little or no downtime for their clients.
"The great thing about Endovenous Laser Therapy for varicose veins is that it allows patients to get treatment that is just as effective as hospital surgery but without the danger of general anesthesia or the severe pain associated with 'vein stripping,'" says Dr. Yoshida. Vein Associates physicians use ultrasound to locate the diseased veins in order to insert a fiber-optic laser. The vein is then collapsed and absorbed by the body's natural process making the old "vein stripping" unnecessary.
"It's important to see a physician if you have varicose veins," says Dr. Yoshida. "If left untreated varicose veins can cause pain but more importantly problems such as ulcers and potentially life threatening blood clots."
Other treatment at the clinic include Transilluminated Sclerotherapy for spider veins in which physicians use the aid of a special light device to find diseased veins which are not visible to the naked eye. Once detected these smaller veins can be obliterated with an injectable solution using a very tiny needle. The solution causes the veins to become sclerosed and reabsorbed by the body before they become varicosed. Dr. Yoshida points out that unlike potentially harmful varicose veins, spider veins are not dangerous and tend to be more of a cosmetic procedure.
"We also offer a new treatment for patients suffering from hemorrhoids," says Dr. Yoshida. "Vein Associates physicians use a special infrared light wand to shrink hemorrhoids without the discomfort of the hospital based hemorrhoidectomy. Patients experience little to no pain during the procedure and can return to work the same day."
"With the opening of our offices in Lake Mary and Orlando, we now have the ability to use our expertise to help people in the greater Orlando and Sanford-area, giving them a choice of the best possible treatment for all vein disorders including varicose veins and hemorrhoids," adds Dr. Yoshida.
