The Sturge-Weber Foundation To Honor Dr. Roy Geronemus March 3, In San Francisco

The Sturge-Weber Foundation (the SWF) will host a special event celebrating the lifetime achievements of Dr. Roy Geronemus, director of the Laser and Skin Surgery Center of New York.

"Roastin' Roy" will be held at the Palace Hotel in San Francisco, California on March 3, 2006.

The evening's proceeds will benefit the SWF education and research programs.

Premier underwriter for this year's event is Candela Corporation with Platinum sponsors including Medicis Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Dr. Frederic Brandt and Cosmetic Dermatology Inc. and The Laser and Skin Surgery Center of New York. Attendees include the world's leading dermatologists, nurses and laser industry representatives.

Sturge-Weber syndrome is a rare neurological disorder whose chief characteristic is a facial port wine stain birthmark.

Tina Alster, MD, of The Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery, will co-emcee with Robert Weiss, MD of The Maryland Laser Skin & Vein Institute. The evening's chair is Melanie Wood, SWF Board member, of Houston.

Dr. Geronemus has been an active consultant to the SWF for several years and is an honorary board member.
