Laser Radiation Treatment for Cancer Patients
Laser therapy uses high-intensity light to treat cancer and other illnesses. Lasers can be used to shrink or destroy tumors. Lasers are most commonly used to treat superficial cancers (cancers on the surface of the body or the lining of internal organs) such as basal cell skin cancer and the very early stages of some cancers, such as cervical, penile, vaginal, vulvar, and non-small cell lung cancer.
Targeting cancer cells like a knife, laser beams are changing treatment plans and making the battle against cancer a little easier.

Laser Acupuncture for Stopping Smoking
Acupuncture is a traditional form of alternative treatment for a wide range of illnesses, which started in the Far East thousands of years ago. Its aim is to improve the overall wellbeing of the patient, rather than the isolated treatment of specific symptoms.
Acupuncturists claim that by inserting fine needles into the channels of energy, they can stimulate the body's own healing response and help restore its natural balance. The principal aim of acupuncture in treating the whole person is to recover the equilibrium between the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of the individual. Recovering your equilibrium may help you with the effects of nicotine withdrawal.

Complications Of Laser Surgery
What is a laser? A laser is a high-energy beam of light that can selectively transfer its energy into tissue to treat the skin. Lasers contain a material that produces and amplifies light. Many procedures cannot be done without the laser. Likewise, many procedures are better performed without the laser. Even with the sparkle, pure color, and high-energy beam, the laser is not always the best tool for surgery. The choice of using a laser or other surgical methods is carefully made by the facial plastic surgeon. Your surgeon has the preference to consider the results, the possible complications, and the alternatives.

Gene Therapy Can Prevent Retinoschisis
Scientists at University of Florida used a healthy human gene to prevent blindness in mice with a form of an incurable eye disease that strikes boys. They describe how they used gene therapy in mice to treat retinoschisis, a rare genetic disorder that is passed from mothers, who retain their sight, to their sons.
Retinoschisis is a genetic eye disease that splits the retina, the light-sensitive layer of cells lining the back of the eye. It occurs in two forms, one affecting young children, the other older adults. Both forms usually affect both eyes, though one eye may be worse than the other.

Does Laser Treatment Affect Fertility?
Laser treatment is now quite commonly used for the treatment of possibly pre-cancerous changes in the cells of the cervix (neck of the womb). Other treatments commonly used are cryosurgery and electrocoagulation diathermy. These treatments destroy the abnormal cervical cells. Many people believe that laser treatment is more accurate than other methods and that because it is not associated with scarring it is preferable.
It's a common condition for women: cervical dysplasia, or precancerous cells on the cervix. Women should carefully consider the treatment options because some could jeopardize a pregnancy later.

Nanotech-Laser Treatment To Kill Cancer Without Harming Tissue
A new laser therapy that destroys cancer cells but leaves healthy ones unharmed was developed by scientists at Stanford University.
Hongjie Dai, an associate professor of chemistry at Stanford and co-author of the study explains: "One of the longstanding problems in medicine is how to cure cancer without harming normal body tissue. Standard chemotherapy destroys cancer cells and normal cells alike. That’s why patients often lose their hair and suffer numerous other side effects. For us, the Holy Grail would be finding a way to selectively kill cancer cells and not damage healthy ones."
